Handles of a Bag

I sewed this purse some time ago and enjoy its use. This model is extremely simple: two rectangles sewn together with handles. I want to stay on the main points, because they can be used in tailoring any other bags, regardless of the model and material.

Let's start from "face" of vintage purse. I had pieces of fabric, which was resonating to each other. These were the remains of corduroy, artificial leather, suede, synthetic velvet, and satin. I bought the rep synthetic ribbon right color and decided that it would be the unifier of the variegated pieces. The width of the ribbon is 1 cm. When you make based of your purse, start making handles. This is no less important stage in the manufacture of reticules. Choose the length of the handle depending on the model. The width of my blank was about 5 cm. Fold it in half and stitch at a distance of 1.5 cm from the fold (remember, this size depends on the thickness of the handle). Turns folded in half blank. Further, fill a void in the tube to make the round handle. I cut two strips from this fleece and dragged them inside the tube using a special needle. You may twist the fleece to the handles was round. Generally, you can fill handle by anything. Equalize the entire length of ready handle. As filler is soft in my case, so I sewed it together with a handle. So, handles are ready. The next stage is a decoration of the bag. This reticule does not need more jewelry, because it was made of colored pieces of leather and fabric. If you have pieces of skin or tissue of the same color, then try to make a vintage thing in the style of Grace Kelly. This reticule should look extremely simple and be comfortable. If you want to ornate purse, then you will need beads, ribbons and many more things. Take a solid color material and sew a simple bag. Make a round volume handles. Decorate your vintage purse with embroidery or beading. You can also use the ribbon. If you can knit, then knitted vintage things with beads are good way, if you want to get a fashionable thing. Many designers use embroidery with beads and rhinestones in addition to knitting.
